ABOUT THE FORUM

China has become one of Queensland’s most important knowledge partners. Over decades, China and Australia have forged close ties in trade, business, science and technology. Most recently, these ties have been strengthened and formalised through memorandums of understanding and strategic partnerships. Queensland has led these collaborations — it was the first Australian state to ratify a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China. Supported by this memorandum of understanding, leading Queensland and Chinese scientists are partnering on issues of global significance and are paving the way for new collaboration and commercialisation opportunities.

Building on this background, The Queensland Chinese Association of Scientists and Engineers (QCASE) will host the inaugural Australia–China Science, Technology, Commercialisation and Innovation Forum from 27–30 November 2016. The Forum brings together over 200 government officials, senior executives, experts and scholars, and features a series of keynote speeches and presentations covering critical issues of importance to both Australia and China. It highlights the themes of energy and resources, advanced materials and manufacturing, health and medicine, environment and agriculture. The Forum will open up opportunities for future collaborations in these areas, and facilitate rapid knowledge transfer and implementation of ideas.

The Inaugural Australia-China Science, Technology, Commercialisation and Innovation Forum is proudly supported by:
